Thank you all for making and keeping your dinner reservations for the monthly stated meetings. Every month we strive to mitigate our losses while ensuring there is adequate food for everyone. I continue to ask everyone to make reservations. Please remember that the cut-off is two days prior to the stated meeting, not the day before or the day of. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
We recently initiated two very worthy brothers who have waited patiently to become Masons. Bro. Ernie Barraza and Bro. Guy Gutierrez were initiated on June 22nd. We would like to congratulate them on this milestone in their lives! It’s a pleasure to sit with them in lodge and we look forward to a lifetime of brotherhood and companionship. Please make sure to look for them in lodge and and introduce yourself. On that note, we have a few eager potential applicants who hope to become Masons in the future. I would love it if our members would take a moment to meet them when they attend our meeting and events. I’ve invited them to the July stated meeting and other meetings so please acquaint yourself with them.
Our summer has started out to be very hot and unhealthy so please make sure to stay cool, wear sunscreen and drink plenty of hydrating liquids like water and electrolytes. Coffee, tea and soft drinks may dehydrate you. The average active person needs 1-2 liters a day on regular days and more on hot days so please be aware of your hydration levels while out and about in the heat. One tip is to keep your empty bottles until the end of the day so you can gauge the amount of water you intake. We all must be very careful in hot weather conditions.
Our Sideliners degree will most likely be in September or October and practices will start on the same day as our social events. Some of you have approached me wanting to participate so please keep that in mind and mark your calendars accordingly. I will start reaching out and ensuring you begin your practices both in lodge and on your own. Do not hesitate to contact me or the Worshipful Master if you have any questions. It’s going to be a lot of fun and you will get a lot out of it.
Be well, be happy and be healthy! See you in lodge!
